About the Author
Clive Cussler is the author or co-author of a great number of international bestsellers, including the famous Dirk Pitt® adventures, such as Arctic Drift; the NUMA® Files adventures, most recently Medusa; the Oregon Files, such as The Jungle; the Isaac Bell adventures, which began with The Chase; and the highly successful new series - the Fargo adventures. He lives in Arizona Dirk Cussler, an MBA from Berkeley, worked for many years in the financial arena, and now devotes himself full-time to writing. He is the co-author with Clive Cussler of Crescent Dawn, Black Wind, Treasure of Khan, and Arctic Drift. He lives in Arizona. Wonderful Coffee Table Book / and Dirk Pitt as well

First off let me state that my book doesn't appear to have any binding problems. I have been sitting and going through for several days now and not a problem with the binding. So, while I know another reviewer had problems my copy doesn't appear to have any issues.
The pictures are really well done, the paper quality is good and there is lots to look at. You don't just get one small picture of each car but you often get multiple pictures showing the exterior, the interior and anything of special interest, such as specialty hub caps. The detail is great and I couldn't be happier with the quality.
The description of each car is good yet not overly technical. I enjoy the way each description is written and don't think that I will grow bored over looking through this book in the days, months and years to come.
The bonus feature is knowing the background story of the novels that Dirk Pitt appears in while driving one of these cars, or maybe even our good Van Dorn Detective Isaac Bell.
I was a bit taken back by the cost, but then realized that this is a coffee table book and would have lots of color pictures that are not cheap to print and reproduce.
After receiving my copy, I'm pleased with the quality and with the price. I will enjoy this book for many years to come and think if you are a Clive Cussler fan and enjoy cars that you will also enjoy this book.

Not Your Typical Car Book

I wanted to wait and hopefully receive this from my wife for Christmas, but once I picked it up at the bookstore I couldn't put it down. Should have ordered it from Amazon though. The photographs and scenery are fantastic! Not to mention the cars themselves. I would recommend this to anyone that is NOT a car buff. Even my wife Marge loved it. She actually enjoyed reading the stories about the cars, because it was not all technical. The fun part is reading how Cussler acquired the cars. Not a big fiction reader, so I didn't know he used some of the cars in his stories. Guess now I'll have to order one of his novels. We plan to order "Built for Adventure" for my son for Xmas. He can't have mine!

Fun read

Unlike many car books, this one is a great read. Not overly technical, each car comes with a well written bit of history. Of course the fact that Dirk Pitt drove many of them brings a whole other level of interest.
